What Kind of Creative Writer Are You?

I am very intrigued by the idea of people with innate talent and those who learn their craft. I think there is a big difference in how works are perceived, and I would love to have a discussion about which you think you are.

I am intrigued by this topic, "can art be taught?" A more interesting question might be: if you have innate talent, could schooling actually do more harm than good?

This is a question that's come up off and on for me, too. I think it depends on the teacher/teaching method. My first education came through reading everything I could get my hands on: fiction, nonfiction, medical journals, poetry, biography, everything. In high school I enjoyed learning all the rules - mostly so I could feel like a rebel when I broke one. :-O

I am so excited about WriteCamp this year. At the last minute, I had to change my plans and not come to the debut, but this time I'm already working on getting my schedule set in granite. Don't want any more surprises!
